Windriver.
Green with envy.
As challenging as it might be to contain our excitement for the new golf experience at WindRiver, our members and their guests are even more thrilled. Virtually every aspect of the golf program has been rethought, and now debuts with an expansive new clubhouse, a dramatic rerouting of the course, and all new surfaces on the tees, greens, and fairways. It’s spectacular. Additional highlights include what may be the largest putting practice area in the region, shaded Toptracer, hitting bays, and new short game practice areas. WindRiver has long been recognized as one of the premier courses in the nation. With these dramatic updates, the club has taken the experiece to new heights.
Set along the shores of Tellico Lake, the golf at WindRiver rewards the senses with sweeping scenery and an undulating that weaves through the natural terrain – a design that never feels forced – but instead a path nature would have intended. Owners at WindRiver enjoy direct access to this remarkable setting, while nearby residents may wish to explore Non-Resident Membership, which offers a full club experience. For those looking to enjoy our Bob Cupp masterpiece along with practice facilities and clubhouse amenities, a special Day Access program is also available.
Non-Resident Play at WindRiver
While a gated community, the club welcomes a number of tee times each day for local residents, as well as an annual Non-Resident and Corporate Golf Memberships.

Bob Cupp
The architect you know not by name, but by his work.
Bob Cupp was the lead designer for Nicklaus Golf for 15 years, imprinting his signature approach on more than 150 courses across America. His work includes Liberty National in New Jersey, Glen Abbey in Ontario (home of the Canadian Open), and Desert Highlands, which established modern desert golf design. To play a Bob Cupp course is quite literally playing one of Jack’s own — and WindRiver is a Bob Cupp masterpiece.
The Cupp Repertoire
Cupp's courses have hosted more than 50 national and international championships. Golf World Magazine named him its first-ever Golf Architect of the Year in 1992. And WindRiver? It's considered among his finest work — 18 championship holes threaded through our 700-acre community, with Tellico Lake shimmering in the distance.
BOB was terrific at what he did and added so much pleasure to the game not only through his designs, but also with his fun-loving personality and charm."
— Jack Nicklaus

The award we’re most proud of.
Not only was the WindRiver golf course designed for beauty, but it’s also development prioritized the preservation of the surrounding natural environment. The course is the first in Tennessee to be part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP). The program ensures protection for natural areas and wildlife habitats and helps to minimize the impact of golf operations on the environment.

#2 gives you a generous landing area but avoid the bunkers on the right side. The approach is straightforward, but if make sure you pay attention to the slope in the middle of the green. It can be a friend or a foe depending on the hole placement.
